GrimstadGynekologen is a gynecological practice based in the premises of Odden Helse on the 3rd floor of Oddensenteret in Grimstad. Odden Helse is a new, modern health center that offer a wide range of health services.
You DO NOT NEED A REFERRAL to make an appointment with the gynecologist. We operate without reimbursement from the government, which means that the individual pays for the full consultation. The advantage is that you don't have to first wait for an appointment with a GP to get a referral and then be on a waiting list for weeks with a gynecologist who has a support agreement from the government. Grimstad has no gynecologists with such support.

We strive to have available consultations within a few days and we offer some consultations in the afternoon/evening for those who find such option easier. An extra afternoon fee of 300 NOK per 30 minutes apply for consultations after 3 PM. We also offer appointments in weekends. An extra fee of 300-500 NOK will apply for weekend consultations.
The health center is easily accessible. There is a bus stop (named "Odden") and car park with free parking (2 hours) is right outside Oddensenteret. There are available elevators to the 3rd floor
Grimstad Gynecologist offers consultations and examinations with the OB/GYN specialist Mette Skorstad. She is a skilled, experienced, and committed doctor with a great interest in Women's Health. In addition to working at GrimstadGynekologen at Oddensenteret, she also works as a senior physician at the Women's Clinic at Sørlandet Hospital in Kristiansand.
Dr. Skorstad finished the medical study in Denmark in 2008. She became an OB/GYN specialist in 2015.
In 2014 she finished a master's degree in advanced gynecological laparoscopic surgery at the University of Surry, UK. The study focused on endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and abnormal pregnancies.
She is currently doing a doctorate, PhD, within follow-up of women with gynecological cancer at University in Bergen.
Dr. Skorstad is also specialized in providing health examinations for people who worke offshore, including individuals involved in diving operations and seafarers. We ensure the health certificates meet the necessary requirements that align with industry standards.
All gynecological consultations include a general gynecologic examination and ultrasound. A pap smear is also included when indicated. Extra fees apply for purchase of intrauterine devices, tissue sampling material etc. See further information below.
Consultations for health certificates for offshore workers, seafarers and professional divers have separate prices.
